2013 Buddy Walk

The 2013 Buddy Walk is complete and in the books.  It was our first of many walks and was a huge success.  "Racin' for Grayson" had two separate teams walking.  One in North Carolina and one in Connecticut.  They both took place on September 28.  The weather was absolutely perfect in NC and CT for a great day to celebrate all these wonderful children.  We had about 50 people (about 25 in each state) who walked in honor of Grayson.

I want to, once again, thank each and every one of you that donated to Racin' for Grayson.  We had 87 people that made donations from 13 different states.  With all your support we raised over $4,500 and were the first team ever, in the history of the Piedmont Down Syndrome Support Network (our local down syndrome group here in NC), to raise over $4,000.  So again, a huge THANK YOU.  We are extremely grateful for all the support.

Both our NC and CT teams looked pretty good walking with our custom T-shirts that were designed by a friend of mine, DJ Carey, from high school.  DJ is currently a San Francisco based Artist and Creative Director/Designer who was super kind to take the time to design this logo for our shirts. Grayson's grammy and grampy came down to NC to walk with him.  Grayson's grandma and all his aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews all walked in CT among many other friends.

 The man of the day and one of many reasons people came out to support.

The banner hanging in the background was also designed by DJ along with two other banners for our local organization.  THANK YOU DJ!!
