"Southern Family"

Now that we have Grayson home it is time to reflect on several things.  We will talk about a couple things in different posts over the next couple days.  Many reading this blog know that we moved to North Carolina in March 2011 from Connecticut.  We have really enjoyed living here and have met some wonderful people. With the birth of Grayson and all the complications, this was the first time the distance from our family and northern friends really hit us.  We are really thankful that Grammy and Grampy Duquette were able to make it down for a week.  We are also super grateful to have the best neighbors/friends anyone could ask for. They aren't just our neighbors and friends; we consider them our "Southern Family".  The Hearn, Lawson, and Ortega families went above and beyond to support us while Grayson was at the hospital.  We spent all our time at the hospital with Grayson and our "Southern Family" took turns bringing us dinner each night when we got home from the hospital.  We are extremely fortunate to have such wonderful people in our lives.  It is easy for friends to get together, socialize and have a good time.  You find out people's true value when things aren't going well and we can say we have the best friends here that anyone could ask for.  Thank you so much for your support during this difficult time, it is appreciated more than you know.

This is the sign and balloons they had in our yard when we got home yesterday.  Unfortunately, the weather wasn't too good and the rain somewhat grounded the balloons a bit.

That's why dad and I don't worry about you, Val, and now grandson Grayson. We know that your friends/neighbors are family to you and they will support and help you always. We found that out ourselves.
